Today we celebrated our first “holiday” with Gracie and at the risk of sounding super cheesy… it was the best holiday ever! We started the day with an early morning feeding followed by some mommy cuddle time and coffee before getting ready for the day. Early in the afternoon we headed to grandma and grandpa’s house for breakfast and to introduce baby girl to Ozzie, Grace and George’s Bichon. I was admittedly a bit nervous to have Gracie around Ozzie because he is a feisty dog, but luckily he behaved and all went well.
Following breakfast we all headed to the park across the street from Grandma’s house. Grace and George have been talking non-stop about this park and how exciting it has been for them to watch it get remodeled over the past several months. They have been just dying to introduce Gracie to the same park that Georgia and Dean played at as kids so our visit was pretty special! This was Gracie’s first ride in her stroller; her first visit to a park and aside from going to Nani’s last week this was really the first time we’ve taken her out and about since leaving the NICU.
Today was just the beginning of so many “firsts” for Gracie and it was so special for us. It’s amazing how having a baby can bring so much happiness and even more love for your family than you already have. I could totally cry just thinking about how blessed we are to have our family and for all the love they have for our little one. Geez… you would think I was the one with a hormone imbalance, LOL! In other news, I FOUND MY CAMERA! Thank you Jesus. The camera (which has every picture I’ve taken since Grace was born) has been missing since Thursday. This is why I have yet to post any pics of the past week. I was panicking but found it in the back of the Jeep under the passengers seat. Phew!
