Before this trip, neither Georgia nor I had ever visited a Zoo other than the one in New Mexico. Before our afternoon at the Denver Zoo, we also thought that our Zoo back home was the best of the best. And while we love ours, after visiting the Denver Zoo, the bar has been set just a bit higher! It was so much fun and even with us being there for 4 hours and on the go the entire time, we still didn’t have enough time to see all of it! I’m thinking we’re going to have to go back soon.
Grace was super excited because we talked about going to see the lions and tigers and bears all morning. We eventually had to stop mentioning the Zoo because she was at the door of our hotel banging on it shouting, “go, go!” and she still had to nap before we headed out. Thankfully she fell asleep and when she awoke, we were on our way!
This was the scene as we pulled up to the parking lot of the Zoo.
The bean was ready to see some animals!
Allow me to set the scene for this picture. This lion was lying down when we rolled Gracie up to the glass seated in her stroller. Said lion stood up and walk directly up to Gracie on the other side of the glass and proceeded to stare her down like he wanted to eat her! She was not a fan of this and immediately looked at both of us crying, “NO, NO, NO!” We left shortly afterward, ha!
Mama and the bean at the new elephant exhibit. It was huge and so very cool!
Making friends. :)
Elephants and monkeys, oh my!
I can’t help but take pictures of these two. The bean loved the carousel and I even took a ride too!
By this point in our Zoo day we were 4 hours in and Grace was pooped. We had already promised that we would ride the train and she wasn’t going to forget it. I’m glad she didn’t because it was fun!
Until next time!
