We did it! We finally made it to the fair as a family, woohoo! Last year, we waited until the evening of the last day to take Grace and everything was pretty much shut down. The animals at the McDonald's Farm were nowhere to be found, the food vendors were closing up and most of the art exhibits had been taken down. The year before, we made the mistake of braving the State Fair Park & Ride and nearly got run over by several cars (G was prego at the time) as we attempt to enter the fair... It was no bueno. This year, however, we made it in one piece and had so much fun. :)
Gracie’s Gaga joined us and G took the day off so we had all afternoon to eat and play and we ended up staying for nearly 6 hours. Grace was totally wiped out by the time we left.
The Ronald McDonald Farm was buzzing with kiddos and tons of animals. Grace loves animals and has no fear so she made every attempt to reach into the cages (we made sure she didn’t) and squealed with joy as we went from pen to pen.
The bean even sat perfectly still to have a little pink heart painted on her cheek.
We rode rides and by we I mean the bean and me. G is such a chicken when it comes to rides that spin that I had to pressure her into riding the Ferris Wheel, lol! Grace and I rode some kiddy rides and I rode the big kid rides by myself and loved every terrifying minute of it! ;)
The best part of the day was taking Grace on her first pony ride. She was the littlest kiddo riding and was so brave. She smiled and waved during the ride and petted her pony, which was just about the cutest thing I’d ever seen!
