10/52: "Open those eyes!"

I think it’s safe to say that we’ve all been in the following situation.  Your kid’s riding in the backseat, completely exhausted and you’re almost home.  Then 5 minutes before you reach your destination, kiddo falls asleep.  Despite your best efforts to bring said kiddo in for a nap, your child awakes and thus the long anticipated nap is gone forever.  The Bean has been doing this a lot lately.  She will fall asleep in the Jeep and even if she’s only passed out for a few minutes, that seems to be all she needs to completely skip her afternoon nap.  These days are tough because G and I NEED that naptime like we need food and water.  Those 2 hours allow us to get so much done and when they’re skipped it throws the whole day off.

The following video was taken this past Saturday on the way home from soccer practice.  We were determined to keep Grace awake until we got home and thanks to "Whoomp! There It Is" by Tag Team, we were able to pull it off!  Warning -- Gracie's moms sing in this video… proceed with caution. ;)

  1. HILARIOUS! We have totally done this to both our kids. We are doomed if they fall asleep in the car. We have never had kids who fell asleep in awkward places and if they fall asleep in the car, the second we unbuckle their seat belts, it's game time again. I loved how she had a smile on her face the entire time. So cute!

  2. LOL love it. Yep, the car nap ruins everything. In my older kids' case, it can ruin bedtime.

  3. She is so good natured about it! When we try too keep N awake it ends with him crying....which keeps him awake but isn't fun for anyone!!

  5. LOL! We play I Spy to keep LM awake. Boo is a bit harder, but we have found that we can tell LM to "gently" annoy his little sister and that tends to keep her awake until we can make it home, hahahaha!

I have been thinking of you guys and sending massive amounts of positive vibes into the universe for you....so much so that I had a dream about you a couple nights ago and you were telling everyone that you had some big news to share. I am hoping that dream comes true SOON!!! Oh and Hot Nani was there as well ;)

  7. Thanks Amanda, I needed this comment. I soooooo don't feel pregnant at all. I had some uterus pain the day following my IUI but nothing since. I'm praying that this is the one but trying to be ready in case it's not.
